Marble is a hard crystalline metamorphic form of limestone.
Known for its timeless appeal, marble is formed when limestone is exposed to high pressure and temperatures. The calcite from the limestone recrystalizes to make a denser rock, known as metamorphism.
The veins of colours in marble are due to the presence of other minerals when the marble was formed, while white marble is created from the purest of limestone.
